The Jay & Sylvia Sobhraj Foundation (“Foundation”) was established in 2017 as a charitable organization. This website makes no representations that the Foundation made contributions prior to its establishment as a charitable organization in 2017. In the years preceding its formation, the current board members directly contributed to charitable undertakings in an individual capacity. While these previous contributions are now branded under the Jay and Sylvia Sobhraj Foundation for marketing purposes, they were provided by family members in their individual capacity. Such contributions were not affiliated with the now formally established charitable organization. This includes any grants or scholarships, which require pre-approval from the IRS. To-date, no grants or scholarships have been offered by the Foundation. Any scholarships / grants have been offered directly by board members.
